Where are they now ?

JIM STANES : After Mata Hari folded Jim worked with me as assistant roady with "Highway". When they folded he worked at 'The Castle' for a while and sang in a band called "Vacant Lot".
He then moved to Brisbane to work in another pub. Then it was Wagga Wagga, Townsville, Canberra and back to Newcastle working in his first love ,cinematography. He now lives in Ballarat with his wife Colleen and their two lovable children Hannah and Hayden.
BRIAN McKINNON : With the demise of Mata Hari, Dave, Crabs and Mango formed "Jamaica" with bass player Graham Griffin. After that he moved to Woolongong as a school teacher. Now doing something else, but he won't tell me what. He is married to Jeniffer and has a couple of 'billy lids'.

Brian says,
Hey when you update the history - I played quite a bit of solo stuff down here at restaurants etc doing some original material, and the singer/songwriter stuff I always preferred. Later on I was part of a duet, with a very handy musician called Russell Fletcher, doing similar stuff. And then in a small (but stylish) band called "Social Dartz". You can imagine how much confusion that caused at the local pubs when they advertised !!!
I'm still tryin to organise a personal renaissance but no real action yet apart from a few jam sessions.

GREG CALLAN : Formed "Jamaica", then when that folded turned his back on music and opened a camera store in Raymond Terrace. He sold that and now works as a freelance photographer.

Spent time as a board member of the Newcastle Knights rugby league club. Now works as a business consultant, while running a small vineyard, tea house, and herb garden in the Hunter Valley with his wife Sheryl.

MICK MORELLO : Owns "The Drum Shop" next door to "Musos Corner". Need I say more.
RON BEKKER : Still played drums last time I saw him, and was in some band who's name I can't remember, (it was a long time ago). Later in the "Trevor Mac Band (85).Then joined "Three Way Street". Was a roadie for "The Marshall Brothers Band".
GEOFF BARNES : Disappeared off the face of the earth. Recently resurfaced in a duo called 'No Dogs in Taxis' with Peter Hillman.
GRANT WARING : Played bass in "Vacant Lot" with Jim Stanes. He was also in quite a few bands after that, anyone know which ones ? Now playing in the "The Cruisers."
