THE MUSIC REVIEW
LOKO @ Mezz Bar
Pop outfit LOKO engaged the Mezz Bar at Wallsend Diggers last night tying up the venues run of bands for the weekend.
This outfit consisting of David Burgess, Mark Webster, Rob Brollo and Darren Campbell filled the venue with the stylish 80's sounds, from the first song. (I Ran by Flock Of Seagulls) the dance floor filled quickly and remained that way all night.
Not one of the easiest bands to mix, their stage mix anyway.. But through the co-operation and patience the sound/mix came together from the start, which is always a good start.( Mixing multi monitor and multi in-ear mixes together can be a challenging task at anytime.)
So, a big thanks go to LOKO for the early arrival and patience, this giving everyone the chance to gather the sound they required. Also making my tasks a little easier and not being put under pressure to rush the soundcheck.( Rushing soundcheck can easily lead to disaster. Just saying) Well done guys.
The band consisting of seasoned musicians play a good choice of classic tunes that always seems to captive the audience from the first song. This was the way it came together last night at The Mezz Bar, with the band requiring nothing extra or any adjustment to their stage mix from the start. The FOH came together from the start this was a pleasing night of great tunes keeping the venue grooving all night long. Check out LOKO next time they visit the Mezz Bar at Wallsend Digger. (LOKO still remain in my top 5) acts at The Mezz Bar. Keep up the good work.
(All bands reviews are only the production engineers views and options as all bands that play real live music need support from their industry peers and will achieve a fair and just review pending that I continue to do these reviews.)
Keep the music live and real and support you local music industry today.
